100% Rural Tourism
In the heart of the Somiedo Natural Park, a Biosphere Reserve and the area with the highest brown bear population in Spain, La Corte is the gateway to a rural world where time seems to stand still, where the locals live at nature’s pace and still follow the age-old traditions of the “vaqueiros de alzada” (nomadic cowherds). This typical country house was built in 1861 and has recently been restored, preserving its original structure and respecting the typical building materials, the farmyard with a “hórreo” or raised granary and the homely atmosphere where guests can relax beside a cosy open fireplace.
Our village, Villar de Vildas, was named an "Exemplary village of Asturias" in 2004. The jury highly valued the observance of age-old customs and the typical mountain village architecture.
La Corte de Somiedo has 4 double rooms, 1 family room for 4 guests, an all-in apartment and our personal favourite: the Asturian hórreo, which we’ve refurbished as a totally independent guestroom.
